Kristen Mathesen



Kristen is fascinated by the power of yoga on and off the mat. She loves that yoga strengthens the body but also calms and focuses the mind. First introduced to yoga in 2005, Kristen has developed her asana practice and enjoys how it complements her love of the outdoors and active lifestyle. Kristen’s classes have an emphasis on mindful movement, alignment based flow, and exploring the balance of alignment and breath while letting go of mind “stuff” to just be in the present moment and each pose. She is also passionate about teaching the therapeutic yoga classes like yin and restorative. When not on her yoga mat, Kristen loves to be active with her fur-babies, who thoroughly enjoy giving kisses to humans who are practicing yoga poses down on their level. Kristen is excited to share in the adventure of living yoga on and off the mat with her students and the community.

Kristen is a 500hr RYT. She completed her 200hr RYT training with mentors Phil Fulton and Sandrine Petit, and achieved her 500hr RYT status with Annie Carpenter’s SmartFLOW advanced yoga program which included teachers: Annie Carpenter, Leslie Kaminoff, Leslie Kazadi, Desi Bartlett, Leslie Howard, and Tiffany Russo.

Kristen has also completed the following special trainings and certifications: Pre/Post Natal yoga, SUP yoga (Stand-up Paddleboard), Cancer Therapy yoga, Restorative yoga, Kids yoga and mindfulness for kids, and is Level III Reiki certified.
