Beginners Yoga

This class is taught by:

Sandrine Petit

Sandrine decided to try yoga after doctors had told her to stop running; it was creating damage to her knees and even though she couldn’t even touch her toes, she gave it a chance. Over the years, she’s developed a passion of exploring the intricacies of what yoga has to offer. “Initially [in yoga] I was very goal orientated, but now I feel it’s so much more – it has truly become an integral part of my life.” It has taught Sandrine to be self-assured while giving her the passion to live life in a way she never thought possible. “I love that I’m continually growing and that I’ve only tasted a crumb of what yoga has to offer.” Sandrine has been blessed to study yoga with some great instructors – both popular and obscure. She currently specializes in teaching a power Vinyasa-flow that will challenge and reward you on all levels. “I encourage you to let go of your preconceptions; listen to your body and challenge yourself with wisdom and love – you are your own best teacher!” Mobile: 909-838-2924

Melanie Summers

Melanie’s first yoga experience came at the age of 17 when she and her mother attended a vinyasa style class together in her hometown of Chandler, Arizona. She had recently left competitive swimming due to injury and was looking for an activity to fill that void. She gradually began practicing more frequently, exploring the spiritual nature of the practice in addition to the physical. Melanie was inspired to pursue teacher training upon going on a week-long yoga retreat, hoping to expand her breadth of knowledge and deepen her personal practice. After graduating from college and moving to Redlands for her job she finally found the opportunity to do so, studying under Phil and Sandrine at Inner Evolution. She quickly realized that she had a passion for teaching yoga, grounded in a philosophy of mindful alignment and movement with breath. Melanie believes the practice is deeply personal and the asana should be modified to the individual. She works to bring all limbs of yoga into her practice on and off the mat and hopes to instill that in those she teaches.

Emily Phelps

Emily has been a student yoga for many years, and has deepened her journey through asana, meditation, and pranayama. She enjoys the emotional and physical healing powers of yoga, as well as the great physical exercise aspect. Emily has received her 200hr Yoga Alliance Certification through Phil and Sandrine's program at Inner Evolution, which has influenced her teaching with an emphasis on safety and alignment in postures. Emily notices that each body uniquely ebbs and flows throughout and encourages students to listen to their breath and their body throughout their practice in order to attain longevity. Emily practices at Inner Evolution often, and you will maybe even see her roaming the town. She is an average yogi and aspires to share the gifts of yoga with her community.

Philip Fulton

Born in Kansas and raised in Africa, Philip’s unique upbringing and extraordinary life experiences provide him with a progressive and unparalleled insight into teaching yoga. Philip began studying Yoga in 2003 as a means to improve his rock-climbing skills. He couldn’t believe the power and flexibility he developed that took his climbing to the next level. Not only did his physical strength and stamina improve dramatically, but he found mental clarity; that same ‘connection’ that was there on the rock he found on the yoga mat.

Philip has been certified in both contemporary and classic methods of yoga and continues to blend the best of both worlds, resulting in a style the builds not only physical power, but mental strength and agility as well. No matter what physical shape a person is in, from Martial Arts Masters to Executive Assistants, Philip believes that anyone will benefit from the effects of regular yoga practice.

“I’ve had the privilege to work with some of the area’s top athletes, from Olympic hopefuls to the weekend warriors,” says Philip. “Yoga has helped take us to the next level.” Mobile: 951-204-2793

The principles of yoga helped Angelina manage stress, anxiety and grief, and solidified her commitment to be a life-long student of yoga, who is dedicated to constantly cultivating her passion.
